I’ve been using DigitalOcean since about 2015. Back then, I was running VM-based workloads with Droplets, managing my own database servers, using block storage, and setting up high availability failover. I was not just experimenting, but shipping real things with it. At one point, they flew me out to their NYC headquarters to talk about how I was planning to scale and use their services long term so they could understand how to best plan their own efforts for clients like myself.

Since then, the platform has expanded a lot. There’s more tooling, more automation, and more complexity. That’s a good thing but it also means there’s more to keep up and when I’m working, I don’t want to be guessing or hunting through docs every time I need to validate a step.

So I built DigitalOcean Navigator. It’s an custom GPT AI assistant thats specifically trained on helping you with Digital Ocean related answers and instructions.

  • Set up and manage Droplets, domains, databases, and firewalls
  • Understand services like VPCs, snapshots, load balancers, and backups
  • Get clear, reliable answers from the most current documentation
  • Move faster while still building with intention

Like all side projects, others seem to find this useful as well based on the feedback I’ve been getting.

If you’re the kind of developer who uses DO and wants to actually understand your stack from the first stage onward, this tool was made with you in mind.
